Hyaluronic Acid: The biomarker for Liver Fibrosis An Automated Assay
ثبت نشده
چکیده
The latex agglutination method by Wako (HA LT) shows excellent analytical characteristics that make it appropriate for clinical practice. The test is now easily automated and can be performed on most routine clinical chemistry analysers. For example, using a Beckman Coulter AU640 analyser Guéchot et al. measured the imprecision from within-run CV to be up to 2.12% and from between-run CV to be up to 4.08% [1].

Hyaluronic acid as a biomarker of fibrosis in chronic liver diseases of different etiologies
Chronic liver diseases represent a significant public health problem worldwide. The degree of liver fibrosis secondary to these diseases is important, because it is the main predictor of their evolution and prognosis. Hyaluronic acid is studied as a non-invasive marker of liver fibrosis in chronic liver diseases, in an attempt to avoid the complications of liver puncture biopsy, considered the ...
متن کاملSerum hyaluronic acid and laminin as biomarkers in liver fibrosis.
BACKGROUND AND AIM Non-invasive methods have been proposed as surrogate markers for liver biopsy. It was shown that serum hyaluronic acid (HA) and laminin (LN) levels increase with the development of liver fibrosis. The aim of this study was to determine serum HA and LN levels cut-off points for predicting liver fibrosis, highlighting their diagnostic value and their changes during treatment. ...
متن کاملSerum Osteopontin Predicts Degree of Hepatic Fibrosis and Serves as a Biomarker in Patients with Hepatitis C Virus Infection
BACKGROUND & AIMS Osteopontin (OPN) is a matricellular protein that upregulates during pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis. The present study was aimed to evaluate whether serum OPN could be used as a biomarker to assess the degree of hepatic fibrosis in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. METHODS Needle biopsy was performed on HCV patients and scored as zero fibrosis (F0), mild fib...
متن کاملCHI3L1 Is a Liver-Enriched, Noninvasive Biomarker That Can Be Used to Stage and Diagnose Substantial Hepatic Fibrosis.
Liver fibrosis is a major disease that is primarily caused by hepatitis virus infections, toxins, and alcohol abuse. Diagnosing and staging liver fibrosis are critical in guiding the treatment of chronic liver diseases, according to several international and Chinese guidelines. Liver biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosing and staging liver fibrosis, but it is invasive and suffers from sever...
متن کاملRelationship between serum concetrations of type III procollagen, hyluronic acid and histopathological findings in the liver of HCV-positive blood donors.
BACKGROUND Serologic markers have been proposed for monitoring hepatic fibrosis in chronic liver disease. Among fibrosis markers, type III procollagen (PIIIP) and hyaluronic acid have been studied in these patients. AIM To evaluate the association between these serum markers with histological findings. METHODS A prospective cross-sectional study was carried out with HCV-positive blood donor...
